Goldsmith Sprouts Past Stewart Title

Gilroy - Goldsmith Seeds rallied past Stewart Title 18-8 Wednesday to remain unbeaten in the Women's C League second-half pennant chase at Christmas Hill Park.

Angie Macedo went 3-for-3 and Yolanda Lomas scored four runs as Goldsmith erased a 6-4 deficit and improved to 5-0, clinching at least a tie for the second-half title.

Suzanne Fox and Dee Dee DelValle each stroked three singles for Stewart Title.

The M&M's moved to 4-1 with a 10-1 nod over High Voltage. Suzie Schaeffer keyed the winners with two doubles and a single. Lorraine Soto doubled and singled for High Voltage.

Tracy Nelson and Tiffany Pellin each collected three hits to lead Fidelity Funding Solutions past Kay's Kids 10-6. Martha Sanchez lined a run-scoring double as Kay's struck for six runs in the seventh frame.

Tony's Embroidery moved to 4-1 in Men's EE League play with a 12-7 decision over the SVCC Men of Thunder Thursday at Christmas Hill.

Robert Muro went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for Tony's. Anthony Lucio turned a triple, single and sacrifice fly into three RBI. Jordan Montarbo ripped two home runs for the Men of Thunder.

The Good Ole Boys reached 3-1 with a 14-3 victory over Team Beefy. Kris Puthoff homered twice and Jeff Speno and Brian Stelling each added a triple and two singles for the Boys. Gene Losongco went 3-for-4 for Team Beefy.

The Assassins rallied for two runs in each of the last two innings to trim VFW Bingo 4-3. Gabriel Corona and Matthew Wilkerson scored in the Assassin seventh inning. Jeff Castro went 3-for-3 and Adam Kirkpatrick scored two runs for VFW Bingo.

The Players (3-2) upset Claddagh Brew Crew 18-17 Thursday in Men's E action at Las Animas Park.

Gary Barboa belted a three-run home run and two doubles for the Players. Randy Garcia hit two doubles and a single. Mike Keith and John Weberg each managed four hits for 3-1 Claddagh.

Feather Haven Feeds turned back Los Gigantes 13-10 Wednesday in a key Men's CC League game at Las Animas.

The loss left Los Gigantes with a 4-1 mark and a one-game lead in the second-half race with one game to play.

Brett Scott tripled and singled to highlight an 11-run third inning for Feather Haven Feeds. Mike Leslie led the winners with three hits. Juan Arias lined a three-run double for Los Gigantes.

J. P. Perez hit a three-run triple in the top of the seventh inning as Five Star Motors (3-2) rallied past ConAgra Foods 13-11. Phil Ruiz and Taylor Micali each homered for Five Star Motors. Cesar Vasquez homered and Jose Melendrez Sr. added a triple and double for ConAgra.

Lopez Investments (3-2) edged Las Animas Sweepers 12-10 behind a Marco Lopez home run and four hits from Jess Lopez. Kevin Orosco and Donnie Gooding hit homers.
